**Mini-competition is recommended as the best option to obtain the most competitive offering for your specific requirements. Whilst a basket of goods was evaluated at framework level, many of the products in scope of this agreement are customisable and complex, so a mini-competition (or RFQ via the desktop calculator) would be advised.**
How has Responsible Procurement been considered as part of the tender?
Suppliers are required to sign up to the NETpositive Supplier Engagement Tool which will be used to feed into review meetings and provide feedback to suppliers regarding responsible procurement.
At selection stage, suppliers were assessed for:
• Compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
• Payment of the Real Living Wage
• Carbon Reduction Plan
Recognising both the environmental and social risks associated with in-scope products, within the award criteria suppliers were asked questions on the following topics:
- Supply chain transparency, labour conditions and supply factory auditing.
- Circular economy including services to take away in-scope products at the end of their useful life and option to extend life to avoid landfill.
- Sustainability in the supply chain including reducing waste throughout the supply chain, extending the working lifetime of products, reducing the environmental impact of products, and organisational processes to keep abreast of more environmentally friendly materials and products.
- Packaging utilised in fulfilment, focussing on: systems to optimise packaging reduction and reuse, systems to ensure that packaging left with the customer is effectively labelled to support recycling at end of useful life, systems place to ensure that packaging within supplier premises will be effectively separated into single material packaging components and recycled (where it cannot be reused) through internal recycling streams.
- WEEE regulations (UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regs); Several of the awarded suppliers are able to offer WEEE take away schemes.
