The Sustainable Procurement Exchange Forum (SPEF) is organised by Business, Human Rights and the Environment Research Group, School of Law, University of Greenwich (BHRE) and London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC)
An event is being held on 20th June 2019 – 9:30 to 17:30 at the University of Greenwich, Queen Anne Building, Council Chamber (Room 063).
This event aims to serve as an exchange and dialogue encounter between colleagues from the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the United Kingdom to share practices, reflect upon challenges and discuss innovative ways to overcome them when procuring goods and services responsibly and sustainably. Professionals in the UK have a long tradition of trying to insert social and environmental considerations within in the procurement process and this has been further enhanced through current practice to prevent and mitigate modern slavery in public supply chains.
The presentations will focus on current practice, discussing practical implications, instruments, real outcomes. The format of the event encourages discussion, therefore each thematic session will have short presentations by selected organizations and then be open for discussion and exchange.
