We are pleased to announce Naina Patel, HR Director at the University of the Arts London (UAL), joined the LUPC Board at the beginning of September 2021.

Naina has worked at UAL since 2015 and manages the Human Resources and Health and Safety functions. She is the lead on equality, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing, and is also UAL’s Race Champion with responsibility for the anti-racism strategy and action plan.

Naina joined UAL from Birkbeck where she was HR Director. Prior to that she was at Queen Mary University of London and held HR roles in the NHS.

Naina is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and a trained coach, has held governor roles at primary and secondary schools and at a further education college, and plays an active role in the sector; she is currently joint Vice-Chair of Universities HR, having previously chaired the UHR M25 Group. 

She holds a degree in Social Sciences, a postgraduate qualification in Personnel Management and a coaching qualification.

In addition, we’re delighted that Olga Martin-Ortega, Reader in Public Law at the University of Greenwich, and Linda Alexander, Director of Estates and Facilities at Ravensbourne University London, have both been re-appointed for a further three-year term to the LUPC Board.
