NEW: Office Supplies and Computer Consumables

LUPC and NWPCSS award Office Supplies and Computer Consumables framework agreement with significant savings

LUPC is pleased to be able to confirm the award the Office Supplies and Computer Consumables framework agreement, the principal stationery agreement for the UK higher education sector.

The award of the framework is as follows:

Lot 1 (Stationery): Banner Business Services Ltd

Lot 2 (Computer Consumables): XMA Ltd

Lot 3 (Stationery and Computer Consumables): Office Depot (UK) Ltd

NWPCSS chair Rob Godfrey, of Queen Mary, University of London said “This is a great deal for our Members.  They stand to save between 9.8% and 13.6% on previous prices paid, which means around £3m in cash will be saved for the UK higher education sector each year.”

Andy Davies, LUPC Director, urged buyers to go even further.  “The potential for savings rises to around £5m a year in total, if buyers adapt certain cost-saving behaviours, such as weekly deliveries.  And if buyers can switch from ‘branded’ items to low-cost alternatives, the savings really go up – to over 40% for both stationery and computer consumables.”

The new agreement commences on 1 August 2011 and LUPC is conducting the implementation process with these suppliers now.  The new Buyers Guide and price lists are available now via CuPID, complete with details of the benefits associated with each Lot.

Since the strategy was to award to just one supplier in each Lot, no further competition is necessary, saving even more time and effort for every Member.
