The government has announced new thresholds for the purposes of applying EU Procurement Regulations from 1 January 2012. The figures at which it is necessary to advertise a contract have risen slightly. The thresholds are updated every two years and these new limits will apply until 31 December 2013. Members should also note that the Accelerated Restricted procedure will revert to its status of being available only in cases of genuine urgency.
