LUPC Legal Services Agreement

LUPC is pleased to announce the award of the new Framework Agreement for Legal Services, exclusively for LUPC Members.  The Framework Agreement runs for three years, with an option to extend the term for up to a further twelve months.  This agreement consists of eight specialist lots, such as employment, commercial, property and medical, and a ninth ‘One Stop Shop’ lot for those Members that wish to engage a single firm to provide all their legal requirements.

Benefits of using the Agreement:

  • Highly competitive pricing, including hourly rates estimated in some cases to be over 10% lower than rates Members currently pay to the same firms
  • An OJEU-compliant route through which LUPC Members can purchase legal services
  • A Framework designed with LUPC Members specifically in mind, with lots for legal advice on education and student matters and medical
  • A level of experience demonstrated across the 13 successful firms that is extremely wide-ranging, covering higher education, further education, research and cultural sectors, as well as the wider public sector and private sector
  • A range of innovative pricing methods, including volume discounts, first deal discounts, fixed rate pricing, retainer rates and secondee rates
  • An excellent set of added value services and tools for LUPC Members, from newsletters and bulletins to free training and seminars, extranets and free telephone advice lines

Calling off:

There are five firms in each of the nine Framework lots, meaning that there are two options open for calling off from the Agreement: direct award (without reopening competition) and mini-competition. A detailed explanation on each of these approaches is provided in the Buyer’s Guide, along with information on each of the firms, pricing, Framework Terms and Conditions, a Service Level Agreement and templates for calling off, agreeing instructions and reporting.

The Buyer’s Guide is available to all LUPC Members on CUPID.
