Last month LUPC proudly launched its brand new framework agreement for Estates Maintenance Services at a prestigious event at Senate House at the University of London. Presented jointly with the Association of University Engineers (AUE), with whom LUPC collaborated on this project, around a hundred people from LUPC and SUPC Members in and around the capital met representatives from the twenty successful estates contractors.
Opening the event, Mr Marcus McDonald, LUPC Deputy Chair and Director of Finance and Estates at the Royal College of Music, spoke of his pride at launching such a ground-breaking example of collaboration in the sector, the first of its kind, and congratulated the Project Team including co-chairs Nick Jones of Goldsmiths, University of London, Adrian Moody of Kingston University and LUPC’s Clemmie Smith, Senior Contracts Manager.
AUE national chair Daren Bezants of Royal Holloway said: “The fact that the strategy was developed with input from estates and procurement professionals from across Members means that the agreement will meet a wide set of user requirements.” Concluding the event, Charles Tomlinson and Martin Vincent of Weightmans LLP led a seminar in the use of the NEC3 form of contract, which underpins the agreement.
