LUPC’s Board elected Marcus McDonald, Director of Finance and Estates at the Royal College of Music, as its new Chair on Friday 2 December. Marcus was formerly Deputy Chair and has been an LUPC Board member for six years.
On the future for LUPC and the wider sector, Marcus said: “The year ahead will provide motivating challenges and development as LUPC looks to implement its new Strategic Plan and the ENPC looks to develop closer working partnerships across all consortia to support implementation of the Diamond Report recommendations.
“The forthcoming year will see AUPO embarking on an exciting project, jointly with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), to develop The HE Procurement Academy – a comprehensive range of professional development activities, policy development and research tailored to the needs of HE. I am honoured to be chairing the steering group which will bring the concept through to reality. This small group will include a representative from CIPS, the BUFDG AUPO Group, ENP, The Leadership Foundation for HE, and the Scottish and Welsh procurement bodies.
“At a personal level, I am also looking forward, at the Royal College of Music, to implementing the new Estate’s Maintenance Services framework and I hope that 2012 will bring stimulating challenges that will achieve positive results.”
